Personalised exhibitor passes and visitor tickets

In 2018, Messe München updated its ticket portal for all trade fairs. The new ticket portal has been adopted as the standard interface for purchasing tickets from our company. The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) sets stricter standards for the processing of personal data, and our new system is fully compliant with the provisions of the GDPR.

Personalization of exhibitor passes

At EXPO REAL, visitors and exhibitors, including their company representatives, require personalized tickets, which feature both their personal names and company details. In order to ensure full compliance with the principles relating to processing of personal data set out in Article 5 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including “lawfulness,” “transparency,” “purpose limitation” and “accuracy,” we collect personal data from the data subject and send them the link to personalize their ticket.

This means that exhibitor passes for stand personnel and for representatives of co-exhibiting companies must also be ordered via our system with individual email addresses.

Importance of the Messe München account

EXPO REAL 2019 services include the publication of participants in the online catalog and in the community area of the EXPO REAL App (both subject to approval). In order to provide these services, it is only possible to personalize tickets in conjunction with a Messe München account. Personal email addresses are used for account identification.

Many exhibitors already set up a Messe München account in 2018. Thus, they will find it even easier to register for EXPO REAL 2019: They can use their existing profile, which appears when they log in to their account and quickly personalize their ticket. The same Messe München account can also be used to personalize ticket for other trade fairs.
